INTRODUCTION
SpyBlocker is designed to help protect your privacy by preventing your Internet
Connection from being used without your permission.
This tool will block over 800 known 'Spyware' programs from transferring
information to and from your computer.
While you surf the World Wide Web SpyBlocker protects your from over 10,000
security holes!
Both Advertisements and Tracking information from unwanted companies and web sites
will be blocked and you'll be able to track your success with counters
for the number of blocked headers, spyware, web bugs, ads, cookies, worms and scripts
with an optional
log file that can keep track of the blocked resources by logging
HTTP headers.
SpyBlocker removes the Internets unsafe resources and replaces them with a tiny user selected
graphic. They aren't just covered up, they're completely blocked!

USING SPYBLOCKER
Launch SpyBlocker and left click the SpyBlocker Icon in the System Tray and SpyBlocker will come into focus.
If you right click the SpyBlocker Icon in the System Tray SpyBlocker will Pop up a Menu
where you can select additional features discussed below.
CUSTOM UNBLOCKING
If SpyBlocker is blocking a site you want to visit, follow these steps:
1) Click the 'Setup' button on the main screen.
2) When the 'Setup SpyBlocker' screen is fully loaded (as indicated by
the progress bar) Click the 'Find' button.
3) A 'Find' window will appear, enter the web site to exempt. (i.e paypal)
4) Be sure to search all the records, there may be more than 1 instance
of the web site address. SpyBlocker will automatically check each
entry matched.
5) Once your sure you've searched the entire database for matches, click
the 'Unblocked Checked' button.
6) Click the 'Save' button.
7) Make sure you clear your Browsers cache folder, and you should restart your computer
8) Now you can surf to the web site that was previously blocked.
MAIN FEATURES
This Screen provides the main controls for SpyBlocker.
Keep a Log File - SpyBlocker can keep a log file of what's happened, select 'Keep a log file'.
The contents of the log file are the actual
HTTP headers that have been blocked by SpyBlocker.
Log files are automatically reset when they reach 50K in size unless you choose otherwise.
Delete - Optionally asks whether or not to delete the current log file contents.
View - View the current log file generated by SpyBlocker. If there is no log file
to view, this feature will be disabled until one is generated.
Browse - Allows you to create a new log or use an existing log.
Reset - Optionally asks whether or not to reset the all counters to '0'.
List - Shows a summary of blocked connections.
Setup - Allows you to fine tune what gets blocked and what doesn't with your Hosts file.
Close - Stop SpyBlocker.
Help - This Screen!?!?!
OK - Minimize SpyBlocker to the System Tray.
Start SpyBlocker with Windows - If checked, Spyblocker will start automatically with Windows.
Safe Loading - If checked, Spyblocker will load site graphics normally blocked, thru a protected
anonymous proxy.
Skip Intro - If checked, Spyblocker will avoid displaying the splash screen.
Ignore Web Browsers - If checked, Spyblocker will only monitor Ad-enabled Software.
POP UP MENU FEATURES
Replacement Graphic - Choose the graphic you want for replacement (Transparent, Black, Blue, Green, Red, White or a Bug).
Limit Log File Size to 50K - Choose from Limited to Unlimited Log File Sizes. If you
choose to NOT limit the log file size it will grow until you manually delete it.
Reset Default Dialog Boxes - Brings back these 3 dialog boxes: Reset, Delete and Close.
Check for New Update - Checks the SpyBlocker Web Site for newer version of SpyBlocker and optionally
installs the latest SpyBlocker Software.
Disable Popup Blocking - Select this option if you don't want SpyBlocker to block
Popup Windows.

make sure you save the file with it's original filename in the same folder that you installed SpyBlocker in]
SETUP HOSTS FEATURES
This Screen allows you to 'fine tune' your Hosts file.
Find in Hosts - Let's you search the Hosts file for specific occurrences of a
string.
Unblock Checked - Removes checked items from the 'Current Hosts File Contents' list and adds them
to the 'Unblocked' list to unblock items. You can select a range by selecting an item and while
holding the SHIFT key, select another Item and all the Items in between will be automatically selected.
Block Checked - Removes checked items from the 'Unblocked' list and adds them
to the 'Blocked URLS' list to block items.
Remove Checked - Removes checked items from the 'User Defined Blocks' list to unblock.
Import - Allows you to merge another blocking Hosts file with the
SpyBlocker Internal Hosts file, filtering out the Duplicates. (Note: Changes all IP addresses to 127.0.0.1)
Apply - Adds the supplied root URL to the 'Current Additions' list for blocking.
Merge Hosts - Allows you to merge another Hosts File with the SpyBlocker Internal Hosts file. (Note: Doesn't change IP addresses)
Browse - Allows you to search for an existing Hosts file to Merge with
the SpyBlocker Internal Hosts file.
OK - Close the Setup Screen
Save - Re-write files if needed, then close the 'Setup Hosts File' screen.
Cancel - Reset all lists then close the 'Setup Hosts File' screen.
Drop Targets - Drag a LINK from your browser and drop it onto either Target to Block that Resource.
FIND IN HOSTS FEATURES
This screen allows you to find things easily in the Hosts file.
Find Next - Find the next occurrence of search string.
Cancel - Cancel any current searching.
INSTALLING
Download the SpyBlocker Installation File
REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER.
[WARNING: MAKE SURE NO OTHER PROGRAMS ARE RUNNING INCLUDING DIAL-UP NETWORKING]
Run the Installation file 'spyblock.exe' and follow the on screen instructions.
NOTE: Make sure you have access to system files (i.e. Logged on as Administrator)
UPGRADING
There are two ways of upgrading SpyBlocker. The first is to uninstall the version you have now
and reinstall the latest version according to the Installing Instructions above.
The second method is to use the SpyBlocker Update Module built into SpyBlocker.
This method doesn't require you to uninstall SpyBlocker before updating. However,
there may be special instructions for certain updates in the future.
If you choose this method you will be presented an option to read these special
instructions before you continue to upgrade.
UNINSTALLING
Close SpyBlocker.
Find the 'SpyBlocker' entry in ADD/REMOVE in the control panel and double click it.
Follow the on screen instructions.
NOTE: Make sure you have access to system files (i.e. Logged on as Administrator)
TIPS
SpyBlocker should be running before you launch any 'Spyware' or Browser for the best possible results.
We suggest letting SpyBlocker start with your computer and letting it run until you shut it off.
When SpyBlocker Blocks unwanted resources the Icon in System Tray will blink.
